Domestic Violence and Health: HAFT Uganda Counseling in Kabarole

Accessible mental health support changes lives. We outline approaches that respect culture, privacy, and dignity.

Domestic violence is a hidden health crisis in rural Western Uganda. HAFT Uganda trains volunteer health workers to recognize signs of domestic violence and facilitate access to counseling and support. In community outreach sessions, we educate on health consequences of domestic violence, engage men in conversations about gender equality, and work with women groups to build solidarity networks in Kabarole District.
